I am motivated by variety and enjoy handling a wide range of projects. My title of Events and Special Projects is perfect for my role at V+M. Perhaps events are my specialty, but special projects often describes tasks that may have been unexpected or undefined and this is where I thrive. I get it done. In addition, I take pride in proofing most all content for consistency and formatting for both Valve+Meter and our partners.
I graduated from Eastern Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Arts with an emphasis in English and a minor in Political Science. At the time, I had planned to attend Law School yet after interning and working for several lawyers, my plans changed. I very much enjoyed the research and writing part of the legal field, just not the slow pace or the endless pieces of paperwork. We relocated to Carmel and I began working in the software industry. It was amazing, unlike anything Central Kentucky had to offer and I quickly moved from Human Resources into Marketing. Technology moved fast in early 2000, and I learned so much. Our team organized corporate events, parties, partner appreciations, tradeshows, parties, product launches, Transfers of Information (TOI), oh and did I say parties, around the world.
I am flexible, easy to adapt and quick to change based on the needs of the organization. I move fast when given a project and my goal is to complete it with as little friction as possible.
When I am not cheering Foster on at the Football field or driving him to piano, I can be found volunteering with costumes at Natalie’s ballet studio. I definitely get my creative fix working with crystals, sequins and everything sparkly.
My parents are heavily involved with a Veterans program they founded in my hometown. There is a real need for food and household goods to be collected and distributed to Veterans in our community, and I help my parents with the program as often as possible.
I designed and constructed a house. Although, I have attended YWAM builds, I am actually referring to my first home. It was framed by a contractor and then my husband and I finished it, ALL of it, in 4 months.
