Corey Trojanowski

Director of Digital Strategy

What do you do at Valve+Meter?

Basically, I get sh*t done. I am the go-to at Valve+Meter for all things SEO and conversion optimization. I’m constantly utilizing new technologies and proven wisdom to elevate our clients to one of the most competitive brands on Google, Bing and Yahoo, while tackling their toughest of SEO and website problems. Most importantly, I empower my team members with the tools, techniques, and knowledge to get our client sites hit with more organic traffic than I-465 on a Friday afternoon. I also work closely with our paid search, content, web development, and design teams to test, optimize, and squeeze every drop of increased conversion potential out of our client’s websites.

Tell us about your background and experience

My career path started as a television news reporter. I spent three years in broadcasting after graduating from Ball State University, but I’m still telling stories. Only now it’s from my client’s perspective. I’ve spent the last 10 years growing into an SEO and digital marketing leader. I’ve helped companies double their organic traffic and triple their inbound lead intake. I like to think I’m a sponge, absorbing anything I can everyday to sharpen my skills and continue to grow as a results-driven marketer.

What is it about you that makes you uniquely positioned to excel in your role?

Overcoming adversity and finding solutions. I have a picture of Jim Thorpe at my desk, a decorated athlete who overcame much in his life. The photo is of him at the 1912 Olympics. His shoes were stolen before competing, and managed to find two to wear from a garbage bin. They were different sizes and didn’t fit perfectly, but he made it work by wearing an extra sock on one foot. He later went on to win two Gold medals. That’s how I attack any marketing program I work on. There will be challenges, but I rely on creative thinking and the data to detour any roadblock and achieve results.

What are some of your interests and hobbies outside of work?

My wife Nikki and I have two boys named Deacon and Cohen that keep us very entertained and busy. I’m a big IndyCar fan, and have attended the Indianapolis 500 over 20 times! I also play ice hockey and golf, love spending time outdoors and skiing, enjoy grilling no matter the weather outside, and try to keep up with my favorite sports team (Pittsburgh Penguins, Chicago Cubs, Notre Dame football and hockey, Indianapolis Colts, and Indiana Pacers).

What is your dream travel destination and why?

My wife and I already checked Italy off our list for our five-year anniversary, so I’ll go with Poland as a dream travel destination. First off, because I am Polish. And secondly due to my affection for perogi.
